Ohio State University student Henry Meacock — a Westfield High School graduate who played on his school’s soccer and golf teams — died after falling from a hotel balcony during his university’s spring break, according to a news report.

Meacock, 19, died March 15 at the Meliá Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, after trying to jump from one balcony to another, the Jalisco state attorney general and medical examiner told the New York Post.

“He was only 19 years old but made the absolute most of his 19 years on this earth,” his obituary said.

Meacock was in his second year at Ohio State University. He was studying finance, according to the university’s statement.

“The Ohio State community has suffered a tragic loss, and we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Henry Meacock,” university officials said. “Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this exceptionally difficult time.”

Meacock was born in England and moved to the United States when he was 3 years old, according to his obituary.
